About this learning path

Start your development journey by learning the basic skills to build merchant-focused Shopify apps. This learning path guides you through creating a functional product issue tracker from scratch while teaching you how to extend Shopify's capabilities across multiple surfaces for enhanced merchant and customer experiences.

Learn the critical fundamentals of Shopify app development, from core concepts to practical implementation techniques that align with Built for Shopify Standards. By the end of this path, you'll have the knowledge to confidently develop, optimize, and successfully submit your own solutions to the Shopify App Store.

Requirements

Before starting on this path, we recommend that you are familiar with basic development. You can take the below learning path for a high-level overview of Shopify development:

Assessment details

  • The assessment consists of 30 scored questions and will take approximately 35 minutes to complete. There is no time limit for the assessment.
  • A score of 80% will earn a Shopify Verified Skills badge shareable via Credly.
  • Assessments might contain up to 10 additional unscored questions that do not impact your results. These are inserted randomly into the assessment to gather data for future testing.
  • Badges are valid for two years from the date of successful completion.
